I confess that I got halfway down the page and my eyes glazed over. I take it that he's just telling a pack of lies?

It wasn't boring, just annoying. It's like reading a racist justify themselves. As someone who has experienced racism, I have to fight the desire to ask, "Really?"

{edit} Pay attention to history and you start recognising the excuses.

He is telling the other side of the story. Both sides are subjective. Neither side is the entire truth. So many years later, who can tell?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bothare who were once Kings did in fact neglect the Kitik. Kings tend to do that.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it was the other way around. Even if this bloke was around at the time he is still a biased observer who is recounting ancient memories.

Either way, the Bothare of old are long dead and the Bothare of today have no responsibility for what happened.

You have it exactly, Stig. Know what your ancestors did and don't repeat it, but let it go at some point! We remember yesterday, but we have to live today.

It sounds like the Bothare are tantamount to the Conquistadors in this guy's mind. Very interesting.

Thanks! What fascinates us as creators is the interaction of injustice here: there are people who feel that, if they've been wronged, it gives them the right to do anything to revenge themselves on those who've wronged them. They rarely articulate the emotion, but boy do they act on it.
